Way too much pow!!!

What started as a great season of snowfall, continues as a great season. All in all we had 60 inches of snow last week. On Tuesday we had 28 inches at Breck!!!

Little Spoon bought a new video camera and Chris V loaned us his GoPro so we took them out and came back with some fun footage – a monkey could make skiing look good when you have 28 inches over night…. Here is the YouTube video.

Tuesday was spent at Breck and then we had some more snow on Wednesday arvo so we shot over to Vail (a whole 25 miles) on Thursday. Just a couple of pics from Vail – Little Spoon and a big pillow somewhat out of bounds….

And me jumping off the cornice on Blue Sky Basin.

With all the snow does come some people so being a Sunday we decided to take the sled up to Vail Pass. It wasn’t as good as a couple of weeks ago…. there was too much snow. Seriously, too much snow can cause some troubles:

Brett and I wanted to get in some practice for the Powder 8’s – too much snow makes it tough for the guy closing the 8’s (I trust Brett enjoyed this run – I didn’t see much of it)…..

When there is this much powder, people who fall a bunch, like Little Spoon for example, find it tough to get up.

Doug seems to be handling the pow nicely – can you ‘Teach me how to Dougie’? Click here to download the song.

Brett seems to be handling the pow just nicely too.

After a bit of practice, Little Spoon seems to be getting it…..

Most importantly of all – Poly the snowmobile is finally starting to enjoy powder!!!!

The last run of the day was supposed to be the best (it was my idea after all). But it was a complete flop – yes, there was too much snow and instead of some nice turns we just pushed for a kilometer, yep had to push downhill!!! But it can’t be all bad when this is the run back to the car…..
