Toowoomba

Lots of rain on the forecast so got this run around Cooby Dam in.  Was really nice, saw one guy fishing, otherwise had the entire place to ourselves.

Little morning walk after feeding the horses….

Today’s run idea (Lake Cooby) ended up being a fail, I got to the lake, hit a dead end and had no mobile service so I couldn’t figure it out.  So instead, Ilka and I went on an expansion of a run we did a few days ago.  Right on 10kms.

This is the 2nd cemetery we passed today….

After a little reading I found out that the Kahler’s were one of the German families that settled in Toowoomba.  The other main group were Irish families; Brennan’s and Costello’s.  Which explains why the cemetery Ilka and I ran through is divided up my religion (I’ll get a photo later in the week).  Fair dinkum, there is a sign for Protestants and a sign for Catholics.

I wonder how they got along back in the 1860’s?

Perfect running dog (first 2kms are a bit of a battle) and now she is sound asleep. I think we’ll get in one more 10km run before the rain settles in this weekend.
