Out of Season Ski

There wasn’t much snow up high this season and as such I didn’t get as much touring in as I had hoped (the Grand Couloir will have to wait for another year).

So when AJ called saying he was interest in a post season ski on the peak I was keen to dust off the skins (100% baby seal) and have one last day of southern hemisphere skiing.  Now A-Basin is open and it looks great but at least we didn’t have to line up.

AJ earning his turns….

And here is Floss (aka Trough Man) back at his old haunt after 8 years in St. Anton – I think he was very impressed and Austrian skiing just won’t be the same now that he’s been reunited with the Peak.

Finally a few turns from me.  It was going to be 6 weeks between the end of the southern and the beginning of the northern winter – thankfully I got in this ski otherwise I’m afraid I might have forgotten how to do it.

This is why I don’t drink beer very much – it goes right through me.
